The Beal Center and Nevco Support the Youth

Opened in 2023, The Beal Center serves as a central hub for sports and community events in St. Louis, dedicated to equipping the next generation of athletes with state-of-the-art technology. Developed by the Chesterfield Sports Association, the facility was designed to meet the growing demand for advanced sports complexes in the region with state-of-the-art Nevco solutions that elevate both player performance and fan engagement. As the home court for two nationally ranked clubs, including the Bradley Beal Elite, and numerous regional youth leagues, the Beal Center has established itself as a premier facility.

The Evolution of the Complex: The formation of The Beal Center, formerly Chesterfield Sports Complex, was in the works for several years before it came to fruition. The goal was simple: to create an advanced facility where athletes of all ages could thrive and push their limits, with the help of top-tier sports technology. “This project was always about building a home for the youth. A nonprofit association runs the facility, so it is not about the money. It is about the kids — giving them a safe environment to play sports but also taking care of them physically and mentally,” said Stuart Duncan, Executive Director of Chesterfield Sports Association— whose vision and leadership sparked the project. “With our performance training and medical partners, ACE Performance Lab and Mercy Sports Medicine, we are not only getting them on the court to develop their skill set but helping them health wise.”

Nevco’s Role in the Upgrade: Nevco played a central role in the technological upgrades at the sports complex. They invested in (18) Model 2750 Scoreboards, which provide high-quality, real-time score displays across their courts. The following year, (10) SSC-7 Shot Clocks were added, bringing the facility to new heights in terms of functionality. These advanced systems not only ensure that the action stays fast paced, but they also offer precise, real-time tracking for both players and spectators. These installations have been crucial in helping athletes keep track of their performance, while providing fans with the excitement and clarity needed for a more immersive sports experience.

Additionally, the complex offers 9 basketball courts that can be converted into 18 volleyball courts, and these high-tech installations are designed to handle fast-paced games. This makes the facility one of the most versatile and technologically advanced sports venues in the region.

Naming Rights: The facility, previously known as the Chesterfield Sports Complex, recently received a significant boost with the naming rights being secured by NBA-player Bradley Beal. In recognition of Beal’s contributions to the facility, it was officially renamed The Beal Center in a special ceremony in August of 2024, solidifying Beal’s commitment to his hometown and the local sports community.

The Future of The Beal Center: The Beal Center is not just a sports facility- it’s a resource for young athletes who aspire to greatness. The complex hosts a wide variety of events, from basketball and volleyball tournaments to community gatherings and local sports clinics.

The center’s commitment to fostering youth athletics and sportsmanship has already begun to make a significant impact. It was estimated that the facility would draw approximately 900,000 visitors annually. The Beal Center plans to continue offering over 10,000 hours of court time each year for rent, serving as a central resource for aspiring athletes in the region.

Events and Community Impact: Beyond hosting basketball and volleyball events, the center has expanded its community impact by offering programs like the MasterMindz Sports & Wellness Summer Camp. In partnership with Street GeeKz Liberated, this initiative provides 64 underserved middle school students from St. Louis North County with free access to basketball, volleyball, and social-emotional learning. The program, including transportation and staffing, is fully subsidized by the Chesterfield Sports Association. This commitment to youth development underscores the center’s positive influence on both the athletes and the local economy.

Looking Ahead: With these advancements, The Beal Center is more than just a place to compete. It’s a catalyst for community engagement and athletic development. In the future, the center plans to continue integrating new technology, host different types of      events, and provide additional resources to help athletes improve their skills.

By bringing in the latest sports technology and opening doors for future generations, the Chesterfield Sports Association and Bradley Beal’s investment in this facility is ensuring that St. Louis remains a city where athletes can grow, compete, and achieve greatness.
